The Pilgrims Home will serve as the Administrative and Operational Headquarters of the Mobile Manna Foundation (MMF): a world-class rehabilitation centre for the mentally ill and other distressed and challenged persons. It is a state-of-art Mental Health Rehabilitation and Research Centre in Nigeria. As a non-Governmental Organization (NGO), the MMF is self-sustaining, and thus the principle of sustainability is built into her humanitarian and scientific services to the wider society.
The Pilgrims Home will be an architectural representation of the Holy Spirit in the form of a dove. This is a preferred representation of the Holy Spirit in the Christian world. The Holy Spirit is life-giving and sustaining reality (Support); the engine of renewal and restoration (Rehabilitation); and the driver of integration and humanization (Research), which are indispensable for any authentic and integral human development, capable of giving birth to a new world. The “birthing” of this new world in Nigeria is the ultimate goal of the Mobile Manna Foundation – giving support and rehabilitating human beings for the promotion of integral human development, respect of human rights and dignity as a contribution towards Nation building.
